Men’s Circle in Freeport Maine Starting January 2026
Guided Training For Men
Wayfinders will start as a group of diverse men and meet six Saturdays over six months.
We will connect with spirit, with Nature and each other. In circle and through stories, ceremony and witnessing we’ll discover common cause in renewing our sense of purpose and direction.

Reflections for Men

Often our understanding of masculinity comes either from our mother, or stereotypes projected by our culture and the media. Neither way adequately informs what it means for a man to stand in his power with confidence and humility, in service to his community and his people.

For so long, the quest has been, “What can I get?”

Wayfinders is an invitation to grow deeper roots. The new question is, “What can I offer?”

Highlights / Questions / Points of Interest:

  1. What does it mean to be a father, brother, husband or son?
  2. What does making way for the new version of you look like?
  3. Are you struggling with life – a home, social network and/or job that isn’t aligned with who you are becoming or want to become?
  4. Do you feel like there is more that you want to get out of and contribute to life than what you are seeing now?
  5. Have you ever asked yourself, what if I took a small step towards what I want to create, let go of my limiting beliefs, stepped into my sovereignty, and made the changes I want to see become reality?

What to Expect

January/February

Cold and silence of deep winter encourage reflection, giving space and inviting us inward to find our true self. Through journeys and council we discover the guides and teachers that live within us and who begin to show us who we are as reflected in male archetypes – spiritual warriors, lovers, and sovereign chieftains of our soul’s purpose. We come to understand the balance of our sacred masculine and feminine.

March/April

We share our inner stirrings, giving shape to our rebirth as we emerge from the chrysalis of winter’s undertakings. We affirm our gifts, and we plan our return with a newly forged vision of how we will share them, with our people and with our broader community.

May

The emergence of Spring reflects growth within and without. Our roots grow deeper as our limbs reach skyward. Thru ritual and ceremony we celebrate our journey and affirm our commitment to our new life, one in which we create, guide, and celebrate our gifts and ourselves with each other and our people.

Before I joined this group, I didn’t realize how isolated I felt in my spiritual journey, knowing that I needed to make a shift but unsure how to go about it. From the very first meeting, I felt a sense of brotherhood and safety. The monthly gatherings allowed for deep conversations and delving into what it really means to be a man in the 21st century. All of this helped me reconnect with my inner truth.

What You Will Learn
and Walk Away With

  • You are in your power, living within your own purpose as a sovereign being.
  • You have a clear vision of yourself and what your heart desires, be it your work, family or relationship, and you are ready to take strides towards it.
  • You are able to step up and take full responsibility for your mindset.
  • You have let go of the stories and wounds of the past, for they no longer control your life.
  • With sharpened priorities you have a keener eye for what you would truly love to do, who you truly wish to be with, and the strength and conviction to strive for them. When this happens, your life will be forever changed.

Joining this spiritual men’s group was the right decision for me. I found a circle of men who welcomed me with open hearts and deep wisdom. Through shared stories, silence, and a variety of sacred rituals and practices, I’ve rediscovered my strength and vulnerability. This group became a sanctuary—a safe place where I could truly connect and share with other men both my feelings and challenges. I’m deeply grateful, and I encourage any man seeking truth and connection to step into this space.

Your Guide

Bob Moore - Wayfinders - The Path Home

Bob Moore

Bob Moore, founder of Wayfinders – the Path Home, will be your guide and leader.

I speak from experience. I lived that trajectory. As a conservation science writer I saw the natural world through the lens of mind and intellect. As a spiritual being, Reiki master, shamanic practitioner, I see through the eyes of spirit, acknowledging the sentience of all life.

My aim is to enliven healthy connections to our purpose, our community and the land. I am trained in men’s group work and am excited to offer this training to my community and beyond. If any part of this six month arc stirs a spark within you, please reach out by email or phone (below) for a private consultation.

Background and Bio

Concluding my career as a journalist coincided with the passing of my partner of 34 years and my grown children leaving the nest. Out of the grief and sadness rose opportunity – to create a new life that expresses who I’ve become, a compassionate human being with a desire to share my abilities and experience to help people. Over considerable time and deep internal exploration, study, and spiritual evolution, the kernel of an idea grew into a purpose and heart-centered commitment: Wayfinders – the Path Home.

I am motivated to challenge the pervasive fear and anxiety that I see in our culture. We all – men and women both – suffer from past woundings, traumas and doubts about our abilities, gifts and self-worth. The torrid news cycle and social media create a firehose of fear, lack and scarcity. We can’t let those rule our lives. We need to claim sovereignty over our own demeanor.

If we can lean on each other with trust in a safe, supportive and open space, we can see our limitations as opportunities for growth and compassion. Instead of needing to compete, we can lift each other up. When we see the good in each other, our potential has a better chance to express itself, and together we remove the limits to achieving our goals. We can reclaim our power.

I am inspired to share what I have learned from my own experience. I have done wilderness vision fasting, participated in men’s groups and mentored men’s groups. But change won’t happen because of my guidance alone. It takes collaboration, intention and serious commitment on the part of all of us to get there. I am fortunate to occupy a beautiful place of fields and woods that offers solitude and sanctuary for our journey of self discovery.
